40TH ANNIVERSARY RANGE

OUr engineer talks to you

our engineer’s preface

“TRIANGLE has proudly shown the world its passion for sound reproduction devices for the past 40 years. First of all, we would like to thank our customers, both French and international, for their loyalty, their trust and the friendship we have built over time. Thanks to this rich history, and the close collaboration with our various long-term partners, we have developed a significant experience in electroacoustics.

This 40th year had to be celebrated with an exclusive and limited edition. We have therefore decided to revisit our emblematic models Comète and Antal, which were first marketed more than 25 years ago. These exclusive editions have been carefully designed and nothing has been left to chance. All the elements composing them have been significantly improved in terms of cabinetry, transducers, base and filtering elements, always striving for a neutral and realistic reproduction of the recordings of our favorite artists.

We are driven by our passion and happy to share it with you through our different products. Music is an excellent refuge in the difficult times we experience today…”

HORN-LOADED TWEETER TZ2520MG

New magnesium dome for high performance

The horn-loaded tweeter TRIANGLE is known for uses a metal dome in combination with a compression chamber.

In this 40th Anniversary Series, the unprecedented use of a composite dome in rose gold anodized magnesium, offers the tweeter high efficiency, controlled distortion, and excellent directivity. Magnesium combines two desired qualities: lightness and rigidity. The dome is designed specifically to support the coil, ensuring even and homogeneous alignment. This design also offers high consistency during production.

MIDRANGE IN CELLULOSE PAPER MEMBRANE

Paper membrane for natural vocals

Since the beginning, TRIANGLE has supported the use of paper membranes in its midrange drivers. This material offers a precise and lifelike vocal reproduction. Associated with a small pleat and peripheral short travel suspension, the vocal range is perfectly controlled. True to its legacy, but always searching for ways to improve, our team has developed a new material made out of 100% natural cellulose paper. It is a paper fiber without any surface treatment, supplying a natural sound without coloration.

The 40th Anniversary Edition also benefits from a new cone profile, improving the frequency response especially in low frequencies.  By offering a more linear signal, it limits the use of filtering components which interfere with the purity of the sound.

NEW GENERATION OF BASS DRIVERS

Providing a significant performance upgrade, the Antal 40th incorporates a new generation of bass drivers for high impact and musicality.

The extremely rigid membrane is a unique composition of two types of wood pulp coupled with flax combined with carbon fiber, limiting distortion despite its long throw. The driver has a generously sized engine, ensuring excellent control and great sharpness. The Antal 40th delivers deep bass, with a clean and detailed sound.

CAREFULLY SELECTED COMPONENTS

Cables
To ensure perfect transmission of the music, the 40th Anniversary Edition uses high-end cabling inspired by the Signature Series. It combines two insulated copper conductors to offer a delivery adapted to the different frequencies of the signal spectrum. A PVC jacket covering the entire cable, mitigates any electromagnetic disturbance. The conductors are in oxygen free copper, “OFC”, known for its transmission qualities and accuracy of tone.

FILTERING

The filter design ensures a balanced listening experience, each component is carefully selected: air core coils, MET capacitors and ceramics resistors.

Regarding the Antal, 2nd order low pass filter on the bass with crossover frequency with the midrange at 185Hz, 2nd order on the midrange in high pass then low pass with crossover with the tweeter at 3.9KHz. The tweeter is filtered by a high pass of the 4th order, the technology used with horn primer requiring this type of filtering for optimum results. For the Comet, the filtering on the woofer is of the 2nd order coupled with a 4th order on the tweeter, the crossover frequency being located at 4KHz.

40TH Anniversary Terminals

The terminals of the 40th Anniversary range are in rose gold anodized brushed aluminum.  The custom-designed, insulated terminals can accommodate a 5mm diameter cross-section cable. They can also accommodate banana plugs with a locking system.

Allowing bi-wiring for the Antal 40th and single-cable connection for the Comète 40th, the terminals of this limited edition provide an ideal signal conduction.

woodwork

The cabinetry consists of medium panels otherwise called MDF for “medium density fiberboard”. In search of cabinet neutrality, we chose a very high density MDF (800kg / m3), used on our high-end Signature and Magellan cabinetry. The walls are between 20 to 23mm thick, once veneered and varnished. The Antal and the 40th Comet are fitted with numerous internal reinforcements in the form of perforated partitions.

This version of Antal also has an oblique bulkhead for midrange loading, thus attenuating standing waves and freeing up more volume for the woofers. The accumulation of these various processes allows us to obtain an inert and rigid cabinet without the slightest coloration or “box” noise.

CAREFUL CONTROLS

Each speaker is subject to strict acoustic controls. Measurements in an anechoic chamber and a numbered certificate of authenticity ensure the uniqueness of the loudspeakers produced in the factory.

A numbered certificate of authenticity ensures the uniqueness of the loudspeakers produced at the factory. Each control or measurement document is carefully maintained.

dedicated speaker stands

Optimized acoustic seal

The S04 40th Anniversary speaker stand will be perfect for the Comète 40th speakers. The speaker can be screwed to the stand for more rigidity, decoupling will then be done at the base, following the same principle as the Antal 40th. The foot can also be filled to better absorb vibrations. It includes cable routing at the rear for harmonious and discreet integration.

decoupling spikes

Two sets of decoupling spikes: the first one in rose gold aluminum, adjustable in height and provided with lock nuts for surfaces like carpets, and the second one in rubber for more rigid surfaces.

These accessories enable decoupling by significantly reducing the transmission of unwanted vibrations to the floor, thus improving the listening experience.
