BOREA BR05: the vintage Borea has arrived
Soissons, October 19, 2026 — TRIANGLE expands its BOREA range with the BR05, a retro-chic bookshelf speaker designed as a bridge between nostalgia and modernity. Fitted with a brand-new 21 cm cellulose pulp mid-bass driver and the range's signature EFS tweeter, it is available from today in five finishes, at €749 per pair.
The vintage BOREA
Designed to offer a generous first step into high fidelity, the BR05 carries all the hallmarks of the BOREA range (musicality, everyday listening pleasure and elegance) in a larger format. Its wood-toned cabinet and plain front panel create a two-tone identity that is both warm and contemporary, underlined by matching trim rings around the drivers.
It is available in five finishes: Chestnut, Green, Frosted White, Light Oak and Black Ash.
A custom-designed 21 cm driver
At the heart of the BR05 sits a brand-new 21 cm mid-bass driver, developed specifically for this model. Rather than chasing bass output alone, its development focused on the quality of the midrange, which is essential to the speaker's musicality:
- A natural cellulose pulp cone with no surface treatment, a signature TRIANGLE material, for rich and nuanced timbres.
- A dust cap and cone profile carefully tuned to combine scale and finesse.
- A widely open-frame chassis, derived from the BR10 developments, combining rigidity and heat dissipation.
- A generously sized motor with a copper demodulation ring that sharply reduces distortion.
It is paired with the EFS (Efficient Flow System) tweeter: a 25 mm fabric dome combined with a phase plug that evens out the dispersion of high frequencies.
A cabinet built for the bass
The cabinet is made of high-density MDF panels up to 21 mm thick. It features two additional braces and TRIANGLE's exclusive DVAS system, which dissipates part of the mechanical energy and limits the vibrations transmitted to the cabinet. On the front, a dual bass-reflex port spreads the airflow over a larger surface: less turbulence, tighter bass and better power handling.
A generous sound, always under control
From the very first notes, the BR05 surprises with its solid foundation: full, rich bass and a striking presence on voices, instruments and percussion for a speaker of this size. This energy goes hand in hand with a refined, nuanced rendition, true to the sonic signature of the BOREA range.
Two ways to set it up
Placed on the floor on its supplied base, or mounted on the optional S03 stands in Black or White, the BR05 is tilted in both cases to aim the drivers at the listener. Its dual binding posts allow bi-wiring and bi-amping, and its magnetic grilles are easy to remove.
